In cooperation with Dallas VideoFest, Women in Film Dallas proudly presents a special opportunity to meet native Texas filmmaker Katie Cokinos before the screening of her debut feature-length film I DREAM TOO MUCH at the Inwood Theatre on Thursday, June 16.
Katie Cokinos was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. A Texas A&M graduate, she began her film career in the late 1980s working at Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) in Houston and in 1990, Cokinos moved to Austin and was Managing Director of the Austin Film Society from 1990-95. In 2015 she made The Independent's 10 Filmmakers to Watch List for I DREAM TOO MUCH.
The film stars newcomer Eden Brolin, Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd and Tony Award nominee Danielle Brooks (“Orange is the New Black”). Richard Linklater served as executive producer.

The film’s Production Partner, Pantheon of Women, produces and presents feature films that celebrate women in leading roles both on screen and behind the camera.
IDTM screened at celebrated festivals including SXSW and the Geena Davis-backed Bentonville Film Festival before being picked up for digital distribution by The Orchard. The film has a limited theatrical run leading up to its June 21 digital release.
