This legal panel is geared for film professionals who are Screenwriters and/or Producers. The lawyers will be speaking about registering and protecting your script, securing story rights, and the ins and outs of writer’s options.
Panelist Bios:
EMILY HORTON, an attorney with her own entertainment law firm in Dallas that focuses its practice on serving the particular and unique legal needs of the arts and entertainment communities. Her firm handles legal matters in Contracts, Music Law, Film and Motion Pictures, Television, Publishing, Intellectual Property, and more.
JOY MOONAN, a UNT Dallas College of Law grad and disability rights advocate and attorney. She specializes in contracts (including for TV and film), as well as tax law and debt litigation. As a certified cybersecurity professional, Joy also leverages digital fluency in virtual legal work, combining strategic insight, compliance, and client-focused advocacy to achieve meaningful outcomes.
